The Quiet: We were taught to swallow pain like bitter medicine, to smile through the ache, to carry burdens that would break men twice our size. Silence was strength, they said. Tears were weakness. Vulnerability was surrender. So we learned to hide behind masks of toughness, buried our emotions in unmarked graves, built walls so high even we forgot what we were protecting. But silence doesn't heal wounds. It just lets them fester in the dark.
